PORTFOLIOS
OF PHOTOGRAVURES
A limited collectors edition of hand-made prints
accompany each release of Portfolio wines in celebration of both
the art of winemaking and printmaking. They are impressions captured
by Luc in his journeys throughout Asia that have been brought to
life in the form of photogravures. The dust-grained photogravure
process is an elaborate technique offering numerous interpretations
of an original photo image through alterations to copper plates,
hand-printed in continuous tone on the finest European and Asian
papers. Lucs striking images engage the viewers imagination,
evoking numerous sensations, that also may be savored in the wines.
The special wines, together with the collection of photogravures,
are available only by direct mail.
These portfolios contain four dust-grained
photogravures hand-pulled on the artist's press in Napa, California.
Each portfolio cover and title page were made by Foolscap Press
Bindery and Publishers in Santa Cruz, California. All rights reserved.
No images herein can be reproduced in any form without the express
permission of Luc Janssens. All prints, approved and signed by the
artist, bear the seal of the studio.
