2017 Portfolio, Limited Edition
Vintage Note
2017 was a very challenging vintage for growers and winemakers. Abundant rainfall during the winter—the most in 20 years—ended a five-year drought. Spring was mostly mild with some cold nights, including a few days of frost. This delayed budbreak and bloom by about two weeks. During the summer we had some heat waves followed by cool temperatures and fog. September was quite hot, with many days reaching 100°F. Despite Mother Nature’s variability, we got optimal conditions for fruit development and maturity. Harvest started earlier than expected.
