Vintage Note
We were still in the drought conditions but the generous rain in the winter and early spring helped the growing season to start early. Near-perfect weather until harvest provided balancing acidity and stellar fruit.
The Portfolio Limited Edition 2016 is a wine of beautiful richness, remarkably elegant and powerful with an undeniable balance. The initial bouquet of aromatics perfumes of rose petal, fresh wild berries is supported by hint of sage, rosemary and sweet oak spices. Juicy flavors of black currant, blackberry, fresh herbs, unfold in mesmerizing layers of complexity. The silkiness of the tannins is very attractive and charming. The mouthfeel is lifted and vibrant and finishes fresh. The flavors linger to create and enduring finish with note of minerality. Medium to full bodied.

Composition: Cabernet Sauvignon 85%, Cabernet Franc 15%.
Fruit Sources: Hendry Ranch and Detert East
Age of Vines: CS 47 years and CF 37 years
Date of Harvest: September 11th and 24th
Fermentation: Fermented in 1-ton bin
Winemaking: Natural gravity flow, no fining, no filtration
Skin Contact: 42 days
Malolactic Fermentation: In barrels
Barrel Aging: 30 months in French oak barrel, 100% New
